Punk

Good evening

Well it's nearly the end of the year and I must say that I will not be sorry to say goodbye to 2013.  Hopefully, I will be entering the new year with better health and a positive attitude.

Today's card is an easel card which has been made for a close friend of mine to give to her partner,  the theme was left completely up to me, so I thought he would appreciate a card with a bit of humour.

The image is a digital stamp called Duncan Disorderly from Doctor Digi House of Stamps.  I have coloured it using ProMarkers and layered it onto silver mirror card.

I have taken a square piece of black card and run it through an embossing folder, I then printed off a red tartan piece of patterned digital paper and layered this onto the black card and then layered the whole lot onto silver mirror card.

Using a Spellbinders basic circle die, I have cut a piece of white card and from black card, I have cut a Happy Birthday sentiment using the Whimsy Stamps Birthday Sentimentables die.  These have been layered onto silver mirror card.

I have then cut into a flag shape, three pieces of card, one black, one silver mirror card and one tartan and attached these to the bottom of the circle.

To finish, I have used the same tartan patterned paper on the base of the easel card and added a Birthday verse as an easel stopper.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Pretty In Pink

Good evening crafters

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Santa brought you everything you wished for.  Today I am posting one of my Christmas Cards.  This card was made very late on Christmas Eve, I had been so busy getting everyone else's cards made, I ran out of time for my own.

The image is a digital stamp called Nikki from Saturated Canary.  I have coloured her in using ProMarkers and layered her onto silver mirror card.

For the background, I have taken a square piece of pink Centura Pearl card and using the Martha Stewart Snowflake Stamp Set and Perfect Medium, I have randomly stamped and heat embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Iced Blush Lustre and Heat It Up Holographic embossing powders.

I have taken a piece of white/silver satin edged organza ribbon and added a piece of pink ribbon down the centre.  This has then been added down the centre of the background and the digital stamp placed on top.

The flowers in the bottom corner of the card have been made by stamping with Perfect Medium, the Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia stamp and heat embossing using Heat It Up Silver Tinsel embossing powder.  This has then been cut out using the matching Spellbinders die and layered up to make three different sized flowers.  I have added a flat back pearl to the centre of each flower.

To finish the card, I have added a sentiment "Christmas Wishes Mum" in the shape of a banner, flat back pearls and a bow made from the same ribbons.

The whole thing has then been layered onto a piece of white card with a boarder of Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue pearls around the edge.

Snow Blue Bestie

Good evening

Just a quick post tonight.  You can tell it's the weekend before Christmas, everyone was out doing their Christmas shopping today.  I had to put all my Colleagues onto the fish counter to cope with the amount of salmon that people wanted filleted.  I will say that I have the most wonderful team of colleagues and I am very proud of the job they do.

Anyway, I have managed to find the time to finish another card, even if it took me two days to do.

The image is a digital stamp from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured her using ProMarkers.  This has been mounted onto mirror card and I have added same pearls using the White Cosmic Shimmer PVA Glue.

For the background, I have printed a piece of digital patterned paper from my crafty stash and mounted this onto mirror card.  I have then used the Spellbinders Persian Accents die to cut two boarders from red card stock.  One has been placed along the bottom of the card and the other down the left hand side.  All of this has then been mounted onto plain white card stock and I have added Blue Cosmic Shimmer PVA Glue around the edge.

Using the Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia, I have stamped with Perfect Medium onto red card stock and heat embossed using Heat It Up Silver Tinsel embossing powder.  These have then been cut out using the matching Spellbinders die.  I have layered three flowers with a gemstone in the centre and placed these in the bottom left hand corner of the card.  I have then placed three of the smaller flowers, again with a gemstone in the centre, down the right hand side.

To finish, I have cut a "Mum" sentiment using the Tattered Lace Family Sentiments die from mirror card and placed it in the top corner of the image.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

My Bestie Niece

Good morning

It got a bit late last night to finish this card, so I had to get up early this morning, that will teach me for leaving everything to the last minute.

I have started with a square piece of green Centura Pearl card and randomly stamped a pattern using Perfect Medium.  I have then heat embossed with Heat It Up Holographic embossing powder.  This piece of card has been layered onto darker green card stock.

The image is a digital stamp from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured her using ProMarkers.  To add a little interest, I have used Liquid Applique on the fur of her hat and coat.

Using the Spellbinders Delightful Circles Die, I have cut the largest from red card stock.  I have then covered with Perfect Medium and heat embossed using the Heat It Up Holographic embossing powder.  I have also die a border using the Spellbinders Persian Accents and a flower using the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Four.  These have been heat embossed in the same way as the Delightful Circle.

I have add red ribbon across the card and then made a big messy bow.  A big red gemstone from my crafty stash has been added to the centre of the bow.

To finish the card, I have die cut Niece the Tattered Lace Family Sentiments set and add three red gemstones to the right hand corner of the card.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Mr Snowman

Good evening everyone

At last, a day of relaxing and making cards.  This is the second post today and I have made a Nephew Christmas card this time.

For this card, I have used a free digital stamp from Sliekje Digi Stamps which has been coloured using ProMarkers.  The background papers are from my digital stash and I have printed them onto Super Smooth Inkjet Paper. Everything has been layered onto green card stock.

I have used three different dies on this card, the first cut from green card, is the Spellbinders Classic Triple Scallop border.  The second, again cut from green card, is the Tattered Lace Buttons and the third is the Marianne Design Creatables Swedish Ice Star which has been cut from white Centura Pearl.

I have finished the card with a "Christmas Wishes" sentiment and "Nephew" using the Tattered Lace Family Sentiments die.

Peace on Earth

Good morning all,

I have had much time to post over the last couple of weeks, it's a very busy period in retail, so work has been a bit manic.  Anyway, I thought I better get another Christmas card made last night, starting to run out of time.

I started with a piece of white Centura Pearl card and using a Martha Stewart Snowflake stamp and Perfect Medium, I randomly stamped and embossed with Heat It Up Holographic embossing powder.  I then embossed three quarters of the card using a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder.  This has been mounted onto red card stock and a some red ribbon added.

I then stamped and embossed on red card, three Baubles using a free Spellbinders stamp set and black sparkle embossing powder.  These have been cut out and mounted using Pinflair glue.

I have taken some matching ribbon and made a messy bow which has been added to the top left hand corner of the card and added the sentiment "Christmas Wishes Mum & Dad".

To finish I have added some flat back pearls and mounted onto a pierced piece of Centura Pearl card using Pinflair glue.

I am entering with card into the following challenges:

New York, New York

Good evening crafters,

A work friend of mine has been keeping up to date with all the pictures of my cards on Facebook and decided that she would like one made for her Boyfriend.  He really likes New York, so this was to be the theme for the card.  Hunting down New York card making materials was a lot harder then I thought it would be.  She also has a pet name for him (sweet) which is Poo Poo, so she decided that it would be nice to include this.  Below is what I came up with.

I have used two decoupage set which I found on Crafts U Print, one is called New York and the other is called I Love New York.  I have adapted both of these to suit the look I wanted to achieve by cutting away the backgrounds on them.

I have embossed a square piece of black card using an embossing folder (not sure what make it is) and layered this onto Silver Mirror Card.  The I Love New York decoupage, with the background taken away, has also been layered onto Mirror Card and place in the centre at the top of the card.

I have cut away the background of the New York decoupage to leave the Taxi Cab and then decoupaged the layers to give it more dimension.  Using the smallest of the Memory Box Sideshow Ticket Dies, I have cut out NYC (New York City) and placed it in the top left hand corner.  I have also printed out the sentiment "Happy Birthday Poo Poo" and cut into a banner shape.  This I have then bowed to create more dimension and added two black buttons to either end.

I decided at the last minute to make this into an easel card, so I cut and embossed a square piece of yellow card with the same embossing folder and layered this onto Mirror Card.  I then added a Birthday Verse to black card and added this as the easel stopper.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Christmas Dad

Good evening everyone,

Today I have made a Father Christmas Card in Red, Green and Gold, this is not a colour combination that I used very often, but I thought it would be more masculine.

I have started with a square piece of red card and with a free holly stamp (the set came free with a magazine) I have randomly stamped with Perfect Medium and heat embossed using Heat It Up Gold Tinsel embossing powder.  I have then stamped and embossed on green card three large baubles and two small baubles from the same free stamp set.  The large baubles, I have scored down the centre and glued together to give more dimensions.  I have added green organza ribbon to the large bauble and green cord to the small baubles.

Using the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Juliet die set, I have created two flowers out of the same green card.  I have added a red gem brad to the centre of each flower and used Crafter's Companion Gold Glitter Stray to give them a little bit of sparkle.  I have also added some leaves cut from the same die set and also glittered.

To finish, I have added in the shape of a banner, the sentiment "Christmas Wishes Dad", which I have given a slight bow to for more dimension.  All of this has then been layered onto a piece of green card with a pierce edge.  I hope you like it.

This card is being entered into the following challenges:

Pink Christmas

Good evening all,

Just a quick post today, as I am very tried from a long day at work.  Today's card is a Christmas card.

The image is a digital stamp from Sherri Baldy which I have coloured using ProMarkers and added glitter to the snow using Ice Stickles Glitter Glue.  The image has been die cut using the Spellbinders Decorative Labels Twenty-Eight die.

For the background, I have used white Centura Pearl card.  On the first piece, I have stamped with Perfect Medium, a random snowflake type pattern and embossed using Cosmic Shimmer Arctic Pearl Lustre.  This gives a very subtle effect.

I have then added a smaller square of Centura Pearl which has been embossed using an embossing folder with a matching pattern to the stamp

I strip of Centura Pearl has been die cut using the Spellbinders Classic Triple Scallop border and I piece of white ribbon has been wrapped around the card.

For the flowers I have again using Centura Pearl card and I have stamp the Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia with Perfect Medium and embossed with the Cosmic Shimmer Arctic Pearl Lustre embossing powder.  This has then been cut out using the matching die and layered up with a flat back pearl in the centre and glitter on the ends of the petals.

To finish the card off, I have added a big bow made from the white ribbon and pearls around the edge of the card with Cosmic Shimmer white PVA Glue.

Snowflakes

Good evening everyone

Today I have finished my first Christmas card for this year.  It's a little bit late to start, but I had so many orders for Birthday cards, it seems that everyone was born in November around this area.

I have decided to try a different style for this card and move away from the digital stamps, here is the result.

I started with a square of blue Centura Pearl card, I have randomly stamped different sizes of the Martha Stewart Snowflake unmounted stamps with Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Arctic Lake Lustre and Heat It Up Holographic embossing powders.

On white and blue centura pearl card, I have stamped a large medallion with the Perfect Medium and embossed with the Arctic Lake Lustre, I have had this stamp in my stamp drawer for many years but felt it fitted well with the snowflake theme.  The three images have been decoupaged and I have placed a flat back pearl in the centre.  I have used the sentiment "Christmas Wishes Mum & Dad", this have been placed with a bow in the centre to give it more dimension.

In the bottom right hand corner, I have used the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Juliet Die to make to flowers and added a white pearl brad to the centre and I have also used two of the Spellbinders D-Lites Sprigs.

To finish the card, I have added flat back pearls to two corners and layered the whole card onto a piece of white centura pearl card with a pierced border around the edge.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

WEAR Red

Good evening everyone

Had a very busy couple of weeks, my son is due to perform in a school production next week, so been running around putting together all his costumes.  It's based in the 80's which brought back a few memories.

Anyway, today I thought I would complete a project that I had planned to do about 6 months ago.  Most of the rooms in my house are painted red and I was having trouble finding pictures for the walls in my bedroom, so I thought way not make something myself.

The two images are digital stamps called Fancy and Princess Rose Red, both from Saturated Canary.  I have coloured these images in using ProMarkers and added some flat back pearls for detail.

The frame I found in a sale at a local store.  I have added a very thin line of glitter around the inside edges of the three mounts just to add detail.  I have then mounted the two images on either side of the frame.  In the centre mount, I have placed two die cut shapes from the Spellbinders Decorative Labels Twenty-Eight set, one in red card and one in white and added the sentiment "When in Doubt WEAR Red" to the centre.  I have also added some flat back pearls.

To finish off, I have used the Spellbinders D-Lites Corner Sprigs and Blooms One and cut from red card.  This I have then mounted onto opposite corners and added a flat back pearl to each flower.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Day Dreaming

Good morning crafters

Today I am showing the card which I made for my Mum's Birthday on Monday,  she turned 66 but still only looks 40.  That might just be in my eyes because it's hard to believe that she is that age.

The image is a digital stamp from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured using ProMarkers.  For the background, I have printed a digital paper from my craft stash and layered this over a piece of blue centura card.  I then taken a smaller piece of the blue centura card and embossed it using a Cuttlebug flower embossing folder just to give it a bit of texture.  I have then layered the image on top of this.

For the flowers, I have used the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur stamp and embossed onto pink centura card using the Cosmic Shimmer Arctic Lake Lustre Embossing Powder.  I have then cut these out using the matching Spellbinders die.  For the centre flower, I have used the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Juliet die to cut out two small flowers from the blue centura card.  These have been shaped and a pink pearl brad put in the centre.  I have cut out a butterfly from the pink centura card using the Marianne Design Creatables Butterfly 2 die and used flat back pearls in the centre.

To finish the card, I have added a "Birthday Wishes to a Special Mum" sentiment, layered with the same blue centura card and add flat back pearls and Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots.

The Dress Maker

Good evening everyone

This will be a very quick post, as it's 6pm already and I still have a birthday card, box and ring to finish making for my Mum's birthday tomorrow.

The card today has been made at the request of my Dad.

The image is a digital stamp called Sunbonnet Seamstress 3 from DigiDarlas and I have coloured it in with ProMarkers.  I have used three matching digital papers from my crafty stash.

The flowers have been made using two different die sets.  I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur onto brown centura card with a Adirondack Espresso ink pad and cut out using the matching Spellbinders die.  I then cut the Sweet Juliet die to cut out three small flowers from red card and a double sided adhesive sheet and glittered these.  Two the Sweet Juliet flowers I shaped and added a red gem brad to the centre.  The third flower I left flat and added red gem stones to the end of the petals.  All the flowers were then layered up in the bottom right hand corner of the card.

To finish off, I added a "Happy Birthday" sentiment.

Pink Bowed Girl

Good evening everyone

I have managed to get a little bit more done this week, so slowly getting organised.  Today my cousin has asked me to make a card for her special friend.  For this card, I decided to go for an easel shape.

The image is a digital stamp from Sherri Baldy which I have coloured in using ProMarkers and then die cut using the Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty-Five.  For the background, I have taken a piece of yellow Centura card and embossed it using a daisy Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I have then layered some patterned digital paper from my crafty stash.  I have used a piece of the same patterned digital paper for the background of the easel base.

I have used three different dies to create the flowers.  The first is the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Juliet die, I have cut two large out of the yellow centura card and two small out of the same patterned digital paper as the background.  These have then been shaped and attached using a yellow gem brad.  From the patterned paper, I have stamped with black ink, the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur and cut out using the matching die.  I have then shaped each flower and layered.  In the centre of these flowers, I have used the centre die of the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Three.  These have been cut from the yellow centura card and a flat back pearl added.  The flowers have then been layered up in the bottom left hand corner of the card.

A "Birthday Wishes to a Special Friend" sentiment has been cut out in the shape of a tag with a piece of yellow thread.  This has been placed in the top right hand corner.  On the easel base, I have used a Special Friend Birthday verse to form the easel stopper.  To finish the card, I have used flat back pearls in two corners and added Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue on the focal image.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
