Christening Pram

Good evening all

Been a bit of a tough day today, only had myself and one other colleague trying to cover three busy counters due to sickness.  I feel like I have walked the marathon twice over.

I have, however, managed to finish a project tonight that I have been working on for the last few weeks.

I made one of these for a friend last year and one of the guests liked it that much that they have asked me to make them one.  It is a 3D pram for a Boy's Christening Day.

It has been made using a printed template which I purchased about 4 years ago, unfortunately, I can't remember where I purchased it from.

The pram is made from baby blue card stock.  White ribbon has been added around the hood of the pram and some cow embellishments and a padded heart to either side of the pram.

The parasol has been made from digital paper printed onto card and matching ribbon around the edges.

The display box is made from the same digital paper as the parasol and the same embellishments have been added.  To finish, the sentiment "On Your Christening Day Riley" has been cut out using a Spellbinders die and layered onto baby blue card.  I have made two of these and added one to either side of the display box.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Angel

Good afternoon all

What a day yesterday, I went over to a friends flat to help her put some wardrobes together, she is 4 weeks away from giving birth and has no idea about DIY.  I have to say, I am disgusted with people's ethics these days, she has very little money so brought these two wardrobes from a work colleague for £30.  They are only fit the dump, I can not understand how people can do this.  Hopefully, they will last her for a couple of months until she can afford some more.

Anyway, that's my rant over with, now onto the card.  The digital stamp is from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured her in using ProMarkers.  The colour theme is red, pink and turquoise.  I think this leans more towards Christmas, but it could be used for any think.

I have taken a piece of patterned digital paper, distressed the edges and layered it first onto turquoise card stock and then onto red card stock, both with the edges distressed.

Next, I have taken a panel of matching patterned digital paper, distressed the edges and layered this onto the left hand side of the background.

Red organza ribbon has been wrapped around the background and a matching bow tied to the left hand side.

The digital stamp has been layered onto blue card and then red card, again with all the edges distressed.  I have also add Stampendous Frantage Shabby White Embossing Enamel around the edges of the digital stamp.

To finish, I have added a star which has been embossed with the same Frantage and three buttons on the top right hand side of the card.

Resplendent Rectangles

Good evening everyone

Just a quick post before I go to bed, not had a very good afternoon with my back today, so I took my mind off of it by making a card.

The digital stamp is from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured her in using ProMarkers.  The colour theme is pink and brown.

To make this card, I have used the Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangle die set.  Firstly, I have cut out two of the largest dies from pink Centura Pearl to form the base of the card.  Next, I have cut out the next size down from brown Centura Pearl and layered this onto the base.

For the centre of the card, I have taken the next size down again and cut from white card stock backed with a double sided adhesive sheet.  This has been embossed using the Die'sire Embossalicious Button Box embossing folder from Crafters Companion.  I have then covered this with Glamour Dust.

The digital stamp has been cut out and layered to the right hand side of the base card with Pinflair glue to add dimension.

The flowers have been made using the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Four.  For each flower, I have cut out two of the large petals from pink Centura Pearl and one of the smaller petals from brown Centura Pearl.  They have then been shaped and layered together and a pink button has been added to the centre of each flower.  I have also added a garden spade charm for extra interest.

To finish, I have cut out a Happy Birthday sentiment using the Whimsy Stamps Birthday Sentimentables from pink Centura Pearl and placed this into the centre of the card.

Mini Britain

Good afternoon all

What awful weather, it feels like summer is over and we are heading back into winter.  I was that cold this morning that I pulled my thermals back out of the draw.

A friend from work has asked me to make today's card, it for her son who is turning 21 next month.  She left the theme up to me, but she did tell me that he liked mini cars.  Now what goes best when it comes to minis, Britain and the Union Jack, so the colours are red, white and blue.

The digital stamp is called Mini Cooper from Doctor Digi House Of Stamps and I have coloured it using ProMarkers.

I have started with a square piece of white card stock and embossed it using the Die'sire Embossalicious Beautiful Bunting embossing folder from Crafters Companion.  Next, I have added colour around the edges of the embossing using the Memento Dew Drop Paris Dusk ink pad and layered this onto red card stock leaving a small border around the edge.

Using my Cameo Silhouette and a cutting file from the Silhouette store, I have cut out a Union Jack and layered this onto the background.  Then again, using my Cameo and another cutting file from Silhouette, I have cut out a banner from blue card.

The border at the base of the Union Jack has been made using the Spellbinders Edgeabilities Classic Triple Scallop die.  Next, from my computer, I have printed out Happy Birthday Ricky and placed this across the card and added two red buttons to each end.

The digital stamp has been layered onto the same red card stock and placed into the centre of the background and to finish, I have printed out a 21st sentiment and placed this in the corner of the card.

Wedding Bling

Good evening all

I don't know if any of you have had the same problem, but every now and then, I have a card that really doesn't look anything like the image in my head.  That is what has happened with this card that I made last night.  I think I was too busy watching the British Soap Awards and didn't put my full attention into the card.

It has a wedding theme in the colours of white and yellow with lots of added bling.

I have started with a square piece of white Centura Pearl card stock and embossed with using the Die'sire Embossalicious Regency Swirls embossing folder from Crafters Companion.  This has then been layered onto yellow Centura Pearl card leaving a small border around the edge.

Next, I have glued lengths of bling in a grid style across the background.

Using my Cameo Silhouette and a cutting file from the Silhouette store, I have cut out a Mr & Mrs from the yellow Centura Pearl and layered this onto a square of white Centura Pearl with the edges rounded.

I have then cut out of the yellow Centura Pearl a heart using the Memory Box Cream Puff Heart Die.

The flowers have been made by using the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Four.  For each flower, I have cut out two of the large petals from Yellow Centura Pearl and one of the small petals from white Centura Pearl.  These have then been shaped and layered together and a gemstone placed in the centre.

Maternity

Good morning all

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend.  I have got to work tomorrow so I'm making the most of today.  I have made this card for a very close friend who is going on Maternity Leave at the end of this week.

I have chosen blue as the colour theme as she already has a little boy and everyone is convince that this one is going to be boy as well because of the way she is carrying.

The digital stamp is from Sassy Studio Designs and I have coloured her using ProMarkers.

I have started by taking a triangle of blue Centura Pearl card stock and randomly stamping a swirl pattern with Perfect Medium.  This has then been heat embossed using Cosmic Shimmer Arctic Lake Lustre embossing powder.

Next, I have taken a triangle of white card stock and embossed it using the Die'sire Emossalicious Regency Swirls embossing folder.  Both of these triangles have then been layered onto dark blue card stock and some bling has been added where the two join.  This whole background has been layered onto white card stock with a pierced edge.

From my computer, I have printed off the saying "A Mother's joy begins when a new life is stirring inside, when a tiny heart beat is heard for the very first time and a playful kick reminds her that she is never alone.  Next, I have cut this out using a Spellbinders circle die and layered it onto dark blue card.

The digital stamp has been cut out and placed to the left of the saying and the whole thing has been layered onto the background with Pinflair glue to add dimension.

The flowers have been made by stamping the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur onto blue Centura Pearl with Perfect Medium and heat embossing with the same Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder as the background.  These have then been cut out using the matching die, shaped and layered to form three flowers.  In the centre of each flower, I have added glittery blue buds.

Using the Spellbinders D-Lites Sprigs die, I have cut out four from dark blue card and layered these onto the top right hand corner of the card and then placed the flowers onto these.

To finish, I have added a blue bow and a glittery heart.

Gone With The Wind

Good evening all

I'm on a roll today, this is the second post, I didn't think I would get this finish.  This card has a vintage theme, Gone With The Wind, which is one of my all time favourite films.  The digital stamp is from Time for Tea Designs and I have coloured her using ProMarkers.

I have taken a square piece of patterned digital paper and layered it onto turquoise card stock.  Next I have added a smaller square of matching digital paper and a slight angle and a panel of dotty digital paper across the card, this is the base background.  All of the edges have been distressed to give a vintage look.  I have also added vintage lace across the card.

Using a Spellbinders circle die, I have cut out two circles, one in turquoise and one in white, these edges have also been distressed.  The digital stamp has then been cut out and layered onto the circles with Pinflair glue to give dimension and pearls have been added using the Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue.

The cluster of flowers have been made by cutting out three of the Crafty Sentiments Design Medium Rolled Flowers from turquoise card, distressing the edges and rolling them into roses.  I have then added some flower sprays from Live & Love Crafts to the cluster.

To finish, I have cut out a Happy Birthday sentiment using the Whimsy Stamps Birthday Sentimentables die set.

Mr & Mrs

Good afternoon all

I think the last few days have taken their toll on me, I didn't wake up until 9 this morning and that was only because my son rang me.

He is feel much much better, we took him out for a little while to get some fresh air, I keep telling him that he needs to move around so he doesn't get to stiff.

I have managed to make a card last night in between running up and down the stairs getting him drinks and taking his dinner up.  This one is a wedding card with the colours of white and purple.

I have taken a square piece of white card stock and embossed it using the Die'sire Embossalicious Rose Vine embossing folder.  I have added colour to the edges of this using the Cosmic Shimmer Golden Lilac Gilding Wax and then layered it onto purple card stock leaving a small border around the edge.

Next I have cut out a panel from the same purple card using the Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles.  Using one of the smaller dies from the same set, I have cut out four from white card stock and embossed it using a Spellbinders Heart embossing folder.  Again, using the Gilding Wax, I have added colour to all four of these and then layered onto the purple panel.

Next, using the Memory Box Gentle Swan die, I have cut out two swans from white card stock backed with a double sided adhesive sheet and covered it with Glamour Dust.  These have then been layered onto the background.

I have cut out a Mr & Mrs from purple card using my Cameo Silhouette and a cutting file from the Silhouette store and layered this onto the background also.

The flowers have been made by stamping onto vellum the Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia with Perfect Medium and heat embossing with Wow Opaque Bright White embossing powder.  I have then coloured the back of the vellum using the Gilding Wax and cut out with the matching die.

These have then been shaped and layered and for the centre, I have added Pinflair glue and covered with Glamour Dust to match the swans.

To finish I have used the Marianne Design Creatables Wedding Rings die and cut them out of white card stock and again, these have been covered with Glamour Dust.

21 Dots And Stripes

Good afternoon

Well my son is feeling much better, he is now home from hospital and rest up in his room.  He is not happy about being off from college for 2 weeks, but he has to give himself chance to recover.

While he has been resting, I have made another card, this is a 21st Birthday card in the colours of blue and yellow.  The digital stamp I have used from from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured her using ProMarkers.

I have started with a square piece of striped digital paper and layered it onto blue card stock leaving a small border around the edge.  Next, I have cut out four smaller squares from dotty digital paper and again, layered them onto blue card.

Using the Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty-Five die set, I have cut out one large shape from the blue card stock and a smaller one from white card.  Next, I have cut out the digital stamp and layered this on top using Pinflair glue for dimension.

The flowers have been made by stamping the Heartfelt Creations Striped Sun-Kissed Fleur with the Memento Dew Drop Paris Dusk ink pad onto dotty digital paper.  These have then been cut out using the matching die.  Colour has been added to each petal using the same ink pad.  They have then been shaped and layered to form four flowers.

To finish the card, I have used my Cameo Silhouette to cut out a 21 and I have placed a bow made from blue ribbon with a key charm attached.

Dishwasher Dad

Good evening all

Well what a week I'm having, most of it has been spent in the local hospital with my son.  Sunday night he went to bed early because of not feeling well, by Monday morning he was no better so we booked him into the doctors where they sent him straight to A & E.  Yesterday him was taken into surgery to have his appendix removed.

I have to say that I am not very impressed with the A & E department, it was 4 hours before he saw a doctor, another 3 hours before they took him to a ward and then another 3 hours before he was assessed by the surgeon.  Sitting for 7 hours in A & E has taken its toll out on all of us.

He is still in a lot of pain, but hopefully he will be home tomorrow.  He is determined to go back to college on Monday, because of rehearsals starting for their next production.  I think he may well find that he will still be laid up in bed.

Anyway, he sent me tonight to try and relax, so what better way then to craft.  I have made a clean and simple Father's Day card with a digital image is called Dish Cloth Dave and is from Doctor Digi House Of Stamps.  He has been coloured using ProMarkers.

I have started with a square piece of brown card stock and onto this I have layered across strips of patterned digital paper.  Next I have placed a triangle piece of matching digital paper into the left hand corner and run a piece of brown ribbon along the edge.

Using my Cameo Silhouette and a file from the Silhouette store, I have cut out a hexagon shape from the brown card and a smaller hexagon from white card.  The smaller piece has been embossed using the Die'sire Embossalicious Grande Dots embossing folder.  I have added soft colour around the edges using the Adirondack Earthtones Espresso ink pad.  The digital stamp has been cut out and layered onto the hexagon shape with Pinflair glue to add dimension.

A Happy Father's Day sentiment has been printed from my computer and three buttons glued to one side to add interest.  Three matching buttons have also been added to the left hand corner of the background.

Friends Forever

Good evening all

What a gorgeous day today and what better way to celebrate the sun then to use bright summer colours.  The digital image is of two friends having a cocktail together and is from Penny Blossom.  I have coloured them using ProMarkers.

I have started with a square piece of bright pink Centura Pearl card stock and embossed it using the Die'sire Embossalicious Regency Swirls embossing folder from Crafters Companion.

Next, I have used my Cameo Silhouette and a free cutting file from Birds Cards.  I have used four copies of the cutting file and arranged them to make one square background, then I have cut from white card stock backed with a double sided adhesive sheet.  Finally, I have added lots of sparkle by covering it with Glamour Dust.

Again, using a cutting file from Birds Cards, I have cut out an oval from the pink Centura Pearl and a centre oval from white card, these have then been layered together and placed into the centre of the background.

The digital stamp has been cut out and layered onto this oval using Pinflair glue to add dimension.

The flowers have been made by stamping the Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia with Perfect Medium onto white card stock and heat embossed using Wow Clear Sparkle embossing glitter.  I then cut them out using the matching die.

Next, I have added a light colouring using the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Mustard Seed ink pad and a colour dusting brush.  I have then taken a sponge and added added more of the same colour to the tips of the petals.  Each petal has been shaped and layered together to form six flowers.  For the centre of each flower, I have used Pinflair glue and added seed beads.

To finish, I have printed off the sentiment "People say best friends are hard to find" and placed it along the bottom of the card.
