Spring Birthday

Evening all

Had a very productive day for a change.  I was wide awake at 6.30 this morning so I thought I might as well get on with a few things.  I managed  to do some pop to the supermarket, do some painting, wash and dry a load of clothes, hoover and mop the floors and do some ironing.  I am aware that this is a normal day for most people, but I still find things hard with my bad back.

Onto today's card, as the sun has been shining today I have gone with a theme of bright and cheerful.

I have started with a square piece of green Centura Pearl card stock which has been embossed using the Die'sire Grande Dots embossing folder.  This has been layered onto a piece of white card stock with a pierced boarder.  I have also run a Perfect Medium pad around the edge of the white card and heat embossed with Whispers yellow embossing powder.

I have then taken a smaller square of white card stock and randomly stamp a floral design with Perfect Medium and heat embossed with yellow embossing powder.  This has then been dry embossed using the Die'sire Flower Power embossing folder.  Then using a Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Mustard Seed, I have added colour around the edges.

From the same green Centura Pearl card, I have used the Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders Two die to cut a boarder and add to the bottom of the white card.  To this, I have also wrapped around some yellow ribbon.

The digital stamp was a limited time freebie that I picked up from Penny Blossom.  I have coloured her using ProMarkers, cut her out and layered her onto the background using Pinflair glue to give dimension.

For the flower, I have stamp the Heartfelt Creations Striped Sun-Kissed Fleur using Perfect Medium and heat embossed with Wow Clear Sparkle embossing powder, then cut them out using the match die.  I have sprayed each flower with water to soft and firstly shaped with an embossing tool and then scrunched them up to give a messy finish.  They have been coloured using the same Distress Ink pad as the background and layered onto each other giving this messy looking flower.

I have made a bow using the same ribbon that has been wrapped around the background and glued this into place.  The flower has been added to the top of the bow.  I have then cut some leaves from green Centura Pearl using the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Juliet die and placed these behind the bow and flower.

To finish, I have added yellow flat back pearls to each of the corners and a Happy Birthday sentiment cut using the Whimsy Stamps Birthday Sentimentables die.

Golfing Dad

Evening all

Well my son has finally moved back in and don't I know it.  Dirty clothes all over the food this morning, no food left in the cupboard, I'm sure you all know what I mean.

Anyway, today's card has a golfing theme and is a birthday card for Dad.

I have used three matching patterned digital papers all layered into green card stock.  The first has formed the main background, the second has been cut into a small square and placed in the centre of the background and the three has been cut into a strip and placed down the centre of the card.

I have then taken some green twine and wrapped this around the card and added two golf clubs and a silver button to the left hand side of the card.

The digital stamp is called Hole In One by Lee Jacobs at Crafts U Print.  I have coloured him in using ProMarkers, cut him out and layered him onto a green mat cut using the Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty-Five die.

To finish the card, I have added Dad cut using the Tattered Lace Family Sentiments die and Happy Birthday cut using the Whimsy Stamps Birthday Sentimentables die.

Puppy Love

evening all

For today's card I have gone for a red and pink theme.

I have started with a square piece of white card stock and running it through a Spellbinders heart embossing folder.  A soft colour has been added around the edges using a pink pigment ink pad to bring out the embossing.

Then using the Spellbinders Classic Triple Scallop boarder die, I have cut out a strip from red pearl paper and place this along the top of the embossed background.  Over this boarder I have also added a piece of pink ribbon.

The digital stamp is from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured her using ProMarkers.  Using the Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty-Five, I have cut a large shape from the same red pearl paper and a smaller shape from white card stock, these have been layered onto each other.  The digital stamp has then been cut out and placed on top using Pinflair Glue to give dimension.

The flowers have been made using the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Juliet die.  I have cut three large flowers from the red pearl paper and three small from white vellum.  The vellum has been coloured using the same pink ink pad as the background.  These flowers have been shaped and put together using a pink pearl brad.  I have then cut two swirls using the Spellbinders D-Lites Sprigs die.

For the sentiment, I have cut out a banner shape from red pearl paper and added Happy Birthday using the Whimsy Stamps Birthday Sentimentables die.  This has then been shaped and added to the card.

To finish, I have added pearls around the edge using the Vintage Pink Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue.

Butterfly Wishes

Hi all

Well day one of my holiday and I have managed to get a little bit of painting done, not as much as I was hoping for.  The radiator cover told me 2 hours just to do one coat.

Anyway, I gave up for the evening to decided to make a card instead.  I have gone for a different style to my usual tonight, there is no image, just embossing and die cuts.

I have started with a square piece of white card stock and around the edge, I have added super strong double sided tape.  This has then been covered in loose glitter.

I have then taken a piece of yellow Centura Pearl card and embossed it using the Die'sire Flower Powder embossing folder and a piece of green Centura Pearl card which has been embossed using the Die'sire Grande Dots embossing folder.

These have been layered onto the white card stock and a piece of yellow ribbon has been wrapped around the centre.

For the butterflies, I have cut one large using the Marianne Design Creatables Butterfly 2 Die and one small using the Memory Box Pippi Butterfly die, both from the yellow Centura Pearl card.

I have then cut three more of the small butteries from white card stock backed with a double sided adhesive sheet and covered in loose glitter.

For the flower I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur onto yellow Centura Pearl using Perfect Medium.  I have then heat embossed with Wow Bright White embossing powder and cut out using the matching Heartfelt Creations die.  These are shaped and layered with a flat back pearl added to the centre.

Using the Spellbinders Delightful Circles die, I have cut the second larges from white card stock backed with a double sided adhesive sheet and covered in loose glitter.  The flower has then been layered onto this.

To finish the card, I have added the sentiment "Butterfly Wishes".

Blue Shamballa Girl

Evening all

Last day at work today, I am now officially on holiday for the next 10 days.  I call it a holiday, but there will be no relaxing as I have decorating planned.  Need to finish off those half done jobs from when I was ill last year.

Anyway on to today's make which is not a card.  I have been making Shamballa bracelets for a few months but wanted to do something different from the normal bracelet in a bag.

I have made the shamballa bracelet using white shamballa cord, 5mm blue pearl beads and one blue shamballa bead.  The peals beads have been threaded onto the two outer cords giving a double bead effect as the shamballa knots are tied.

I have then made a 4 x 4 square box from white card stock.  I have cut a strip of white card and glued the two edges together to form a circle to fit inside the bracelet, this has then had tabs cut into it and has been glued to the base.  A couple of layers of tissue paper has then been added over the top.  The bracelet sits around this and is kept in place.

For the top of the box, I have firstly embossed it using the Die'sire Flower Power Embossing Folder and using a circle punch, a semi circle has been cut out of two opposite sides.

I have then taken a piece of blue Centura Pearl card and embossed it using a Spellbinders Embossing Folder.  Using the Spellbinders Captivating Squares, I have cut the second largest die from white card stock backed with a double sided adhesive sheet.  This has then been covered with loose glitter.

The digital stamp is from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured using ProMarkers to match the colour of the bracelet.  She has been cut out and layered onto the glitter square using Pinflair Glue to give dimension.

Last, to make the flower I have used the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Four.  From the blue Centura Pearl, I have cut two of the medium flowers and one of the small flowers from white card stock, again backed with the adhesive sheet and glittered.  These have been shaped, layered and a flat back pearl added to the centre.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

That's all for now.

Strawberries and Cream

Afternoon all

What a gorgeous day today, doesn't the sun being out make you want to spring clean the house, I feel like stripping all the curtains and washing them.

Today's card I have chosen an image with a strawberry theme.

I have started with a square piece of red card stock and embossed it using the Die'sire Regency Swirls embossing folder, this has then been layered onto a square piece of black card stock with a pierced edge.

Next I have taken a square piece of white vellum, randomly stamped a floral pattern with Perfect Medium and heat embossed using Wow Bright White Embossing Powder.  This has been layered onto the red card and each corner curled back and glued with a white flat back pearl added.

I have wrapped white lace from a local cake making shop around the background.

The digital stamp is from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured her using ProMarkers.  Using the Spellbinders Captivating Square, I have cut the largest out of the same red card stock as the background.  I have then mounted the digital stamp onto the die cut.  This has then been placed into the centre of the background.

For the flowers, I have used the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Three and from the red card stock, I have cut out the two main flower parts and the centre from black card stock.  These have been shaped and glue together.  The little roses have been made using the Crafty Cutter Dies Medium Rolled Flower from Crafty Sentiments Design.

To finish, I have added three small flat back pearls to each of the corners.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
