Play Time

Good evening all

Well it was back to work on Monday and I have to say that it was more like walking into a playground.  I find it amazing how grown women can act like children, even the customers are putting in complaints about it. I have now got to hold a listening group to bring the department back to normality.

Anyway, a bit of stress relief come this morning in the form of my Wednesday morning craft club.  I have gone very pink and girly for this card.  The digital stamp is from Aurora Wings and I have coloured it using ProMarkers.

I have printed from my computer, three matching patterned digital papers and layered each one onto pink card stock leaving a small border around the edge.  Next I have wrapped a piece of pink organza ribbon around these layers.  This has formed my background.

Using the Spellbinders A2 Tranquil Moments die set, I have cut out the largest from white card stock.  This has then been inked using the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Victorian Velvet ink pad.  Next, to give it some sparkle, I have stamped with Perfect Medium and heat embossed using Wow Vintage Romance embossing powder.

This frame has been layered over the digital stamp using Pinflair glue to add dimension and for a little extra interest, I have used a 3D clear gloss finish on the marbles of the digital stamp.

The flowers have been made using the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur stamp and die set.  Onto white card, I have stamped with Perfect Medium and heat embossed using the Wow Vintage Romance embossing powder.  Next, I have added colour with the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Victorian Velvet ink pad.  The flowers have been cut out using the matching die, shaped and layered into two flowers.  In the centre of each flower, I have added blue stamen.

I have also added buds around the flowers, two hat pins and a pink pearl flourish.

To finish, "Happy Birthday" has been placed into one corner and into the opposite corner, I have placed "Daughter".

That's all for now.

Always & Forever

Good evening all

I have a very sad story today, a colleague from work came to me yesterday to ask it I could make a wedding card for her.  A friend of the family was in hospital terminally ill and had decided to give her husband one last memory of her love for him by re-newing their vows.

My colleague stressed that she wanted a card that was personal to them so we have added a photo of happier times to the front along with their names.

I have based the colour scheme on white and gold using Centura Pearl throughout.  With the background, I have added many layers including a pierced border and a glitter border.  The top layer has been embossed using a Spellbinders heart embossing folder.

The centre has been made using the Tonic Heart Vines Affections Die Set and I have added dimension by using Pinflair glue.  The photo has then been placed into the centre of the hearts.

The flowers have been made using the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur stamp and die set.  I have stamped onto white vellum with Perfect Medium and heat embossed using Wow Opaque Bright White embossing powder.  Next, I have coloured the back of the flowers using ProMarkers and cut out them with the matching die.

Each petal has been shaped, layered and Glamour Dust added for that extra sparkle.  In the centre of each flower, I have used Pinflair glue and covered with the Glamour Dust to match the petals.

On opposite corners, I have layered leaves cut out using the Spellbinders D-Lites Corner Sprig die and placed the flower over these.

Finally, from my computer, I have printed out the sentiment "Always & Forever" and the couples name.  Then using the Spellbinders A2 Tranquil Moments die to cut them out and layer them onto match gold card.

I hope that this brings a little joy to their day and that it can be something that her husband can keep to remind him of the love they had for each other.

That's all for now.

Hugs

Vintage Rose

Good evening all

The first day of my holiday, I thought I would spend crafting, my mojo on the other hand had other ideas, it has taken me all day just to make one card.  This card is a request from one of my colleagues at work for her friends birthday.  As my obsession at the moment is the Heartfelt Creations flowers, I decided to base it on these.

I have started with square piece of patterned digital paper which I have layered onto white card stock with the edges coloured using ProMarkers because I didn't have any card in a matching colour.  I have used this technique for all of the matting and layering.

Next, I have added to two panels of matching patterned digital paper and wrapped a piece of lace around the background.

From my computer, I have printed off the sentiment "Birthday Wishes Sheila" and to add interest, I have used my white Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue.

All of the flowers have been made using the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms stamp and die set.

I have stamped out four sets onto patterned digital paper using Perfect Medium and heat embossed with Wow Silver Pearl embossing powder.  Next I have cut them out using the matching die and shaped each petal.  I have used three different shaping techniques to produce different flowers.  I have also cut out the matching stamen from the die set.  In the centre of the flowers, I have added pearl beads.

Summer Garden

Good evening all

Well the changes at work have started to kick in, found myself in the position of managing the whole of fresh yesterday due to no Managers being in.  Got to get used to it as this is the future of the store, but I have to say that I felt very lonely.

Anyway, there is a colleague at work who asked me to make a card for her son a few weeks ago.  She liked it that much that she keeps ordering from my now, not that I'm complaining.  This one is for her Sister's Birthday.

I have started with a square piece of patterned paper, which I picked up in Lidl, which is a cheap grocery store.  This is layered onto brown card stock, leaving a small border around the edges.

Next, I have taken two doilies, inked them using Adirondack Earthtones Espresso ink pad and placed them into opposite corners of the background.

From my computer, I have printed out the sentiment "Birthday Wishes Susan", again this has been inked and layered onto the same brown card.

The flowers have been made by stamping the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms onto white card stock with Perfect Medium.  This have then been heat embossed with Wow Opaque Bright White embossing powder and cut out using the matching die.

I have used three different inks to colour in the flowers, Memento Dew Drop Bahama Blue, Memento Dew Drop Angel Pink and Tim Holtz Distress Ink Picked Raspberry.

Each of the petals have been shaped and layered together to form three different size flowers and into the centre of each flower, I have added pearl beads.

Other elements that I have used are the Arianna Lace die set, Spellbinders D-Lites Corner Sprig, Memory Box Pippi Butterfly, two different hat pins and a pink pearl flourish.

Sweet Baby Boy

Good evening all

What a fantastic day I have had.  I have been obsessed with the Heartfelt Creations flower stamp and die sets for a long time, well I actually got to do a workshop with them today.  Emma Lou has been over in England running workshops and retreats for Oyster Stamps which is just up the road from me.  I loved every minute of it.

Anyway, onto my card.  Last night I made a Big Brother card for my friends son so that he didn't feel left out, tonight I have made a new baby card for his Mum and baby brother.

The digital stamp is called New Baby from Saturated Canary and I have coloured it using ProMarkers.

I have printed off a square piece of gingham patterned digital paper and layered it onto gold Centura Pearl card.  Next, I have cut out a panel of white card and embossed it using an embossing folder.

Onto this panel, I have pleated a piece of gold organza ribbon and layered same white ribbon over this.

The digital stamp has been mounted onto the same gold Centura card and I have also printed off a Sweet Baby Boy sentiment which has also been mounted on gold card.

The flower has been made by stamping onto white vellum, the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms with Perfect Medium.  This has then been heat embossed with Wow Opaque Bright White embossing powder and cut out using the matching die.  Next, I have coloured the back of the petals using ProMarkers, shaped the three large petals and layered them together.  Into the centre, I have glued some white stamen.

To finish, I have wrapped some blue twine around the bottom of the card.

Big Brother

Good evening all

Well it has been a while since I last posted.  I have had a very busy week with five colleagues off.  Four early mornings in a row (up at 4am) is something I haven't had to do since last year, so I have spent most of my time trying to catch up on sleep leaving no time for crafting.

Anyway, my friend gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Thursday morning, weighing in at a healthy 7lb, so I am now busy making a congratulation card.  She has a two year son called Riley as well, so I thought that I would make him a big brother card to open so that he didn't feel left out.

The digital stamp is called Make It Snappy - My Brother My Friend from Bugaboo Digi Stamps and I have coloured it using ProMarkers.

I have printed off a square piece of patterned digital paper and mounted it onto blue card stock leaving a small border around the edge.  Next, I have printed off a smaller piece of digital paper, cut this into strips and also mounted onto blue card.

The digital image has been layered onto the same blue card and placed into the centre of the background using Pinflair glue to add dimension.

I have wrapped some blue twine around the base of the background before layering it onto the blank card.  Next, I have coloured some chipboard stars in red using ProMarkers and added these to the bottom corner of the image using Pinflair glue.

To finish, I have printed out the sentiment "Riley, the Big Brother", layered this onto blue card placed below the image, again using Pinflair glue.

Fairy Pink

Good evening all

Managed to get a little bit of crafting finished this afternoon in between shopping and housework.  This shaped easel card has been made using a My Besties digital stamp from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured her using ProMarkers.

Using my Cameo Silhouette and a free cutting file from Birds Cards, I have cut out a easel card base from white card stock.  Next, I have embossed it using the Die'sire Embossalicious Ornate Butterflies embossing folder and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Picked Raspberry ink pad.

Again, using my Cameo, I have cut out two different sized circles, the larger from pink card stock and the smaller from white card.

I have then used a stencil from Imagination Crafts and inked through using the same ink pad onto the white circle.  Next, this circle has been embossed using the Die'sire Embossalicious Regency Swirls embossing folder.

This digital stamp has been cut out and layered onto this background using Pinflair glue to give dimension and a couple of tiny gemstones added to the image.

The flowers have been made using two different die sets.  The first is the Spellbinders D-lites Blooms Four.  I have cut out the larger petal from pink card and then shaped the petals.  Next, I have added pinflair glue to the centre and brought the petals in to form a bud.  The smaller petal has been cut from green card stock, shaped and glued to the base of the bud as leaves.  To finish, I have added some white flower buds to the centre.

The second flower has been made using the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Three.  I have cut out two of each sized petal from pink card, shaped and layered them together.  In the centre, I have cut out the smaller die from green card and added four tiny gemstones.

The base of the easel has been made by cutting out a circle of pink card using my Cameo and embossing it using the Regency Swirls embossing folder.

For the easel stopper, I have printed off the sentiment "Spread Your Wings And Let The Fairy In You Fly" from my computer.  This has then been layered onto a larger white circle which has also been embossed using the Regency Swirl and inked around the edges.

To finish, I have added a small butterfly cut from the pink card using the Memory Box Pippi Butterfly die.  Down the centre, I have added tiny gemstones.
