Get Well Hugs And Kisses

Good evening all

I have been a little quiet this past week due to commitments at work.  Yesterday was probably the worst day I have had in a long time.  We had a really big delivery yesterday morning and not enough colleagues to work it and then just as I get the counters open, we had a waterfall come through the ceiling.  I had to close the counters down for the whole of yesterday, on the busiest day of the week.

To top the day off, my son decided to take himself off on a really long bike ride with no phone on him and he wonders why I was upset with him at 12 last night.

Anyway, today has been a crafting day to help me de-stress.  A colleague's Sister is currently very poorly in hospital so she has asked me to make a card for her.  I decided to go for a bright and summery colour scheme to cheer her up.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

The Wedding Dance

Good afternoon all

My favourite time of the year is Summer, you can throw open your doors and windows and let the fresh air in.  That is of course, until you land up with a room full of flies.  That is all I seem to have done today, is chase flies out.  Hence, a quick trip to my local supermarket to buy a Bug Screen.  It was only £10, so I thought it wouldn't be that good, but OMG it is brilliant.  I can now sit back, relax and not have to worry about chasing flies.

In between fly chasing I have managed to do a little crafting.  This is not a card today, but a MDF heart.  The digital stamp is called Maddie & Jamie Waltz from Lacy Sunshine and I have coloured them using ProMarkers.

I have started with a MDF heart shape and painted it an off white using English Cottage Pantry White Acrylic Paint from Indigo Blu.  Once dried, I have randomly stamp a flourish around the edges with Perfect Medium and heat embossed using Heat It Up Gold Tinsel embossing powder.

Using the Tonic Heart Vines Base from the Affections Die Set, I have cut out the solid base from gold Centura Pearl card.  Next, I have cut out the pattern heart from white card backed with a double sided adhesive sheet and covered with Glamour Dust.  I have aged this by added ink using the Adirondack Earthtones Espresso ink pad.

The digital stamp has been cut out and layered onto this using Pinflair glue to give dimension.

The flowers have been made by stamping the Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia onto white vellum with Perfect Medium and again, heat embossing using the same embossing powder as the the background.  On the reverse of the vellum, I have used the same colour combo as the digital stamp to colour the petals.  These have then been cut out using the matching die, shaped, layered and a gemstone added to each centre.

To finish, I have added some gold organza ribbon to hang the heart up with.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Relax

Good evening everyone

Today has not been a good day, I think the thought of going back to work on Monday is starting to get me down, especially knowing that most of the colleagues have crossed out the overtime I had put them in for.  It's going to be a tough week.

There is only one way to lift my moon and of course, that is crafting.  I decided to go for a sunny theme with this card in the hope that it cheered me up.  The digital stamp is from Hambo Stamps and it has been coloured using ProMarkers.

Using my Cameo Silhouette and a free cutting file from Birds Cards, I have cut out a scallop circle card blank from white card stock.

Next, I have cut out two circles from patterned digital paper, cut them in half and layered them onto a circle of green Centura Pearl card stock leaving a small border around the edge.

From another piece of patterned digital paper, I have cut out an oval shape.  The digital stamp has been cut out and placed onto this oval with Pinflair glue to give dimension.  Next, I have cut out an oval frame from the green Centura Pearl and layered this onto the image.

I have made two flowers using the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Four.  These have been cut from the green Centura Pearl and an orange flat back pearl placed into each centre.

To finish, I have added three flat back pearls to the bottom the the card.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Friends Forever

Good evening all

Well that's most of the ironing done, although my back is now killing me, standing in one place for so long.  I have got to try and finish the rest tomorrow.

Tonight's card has the theme of friends and is made with a My Besties digital stamp from Sherri Baldy which has been coloured using ProMarkers.

I have taken a square piece of patterned digital paper and layered it onto brown card stock leaving a small border around the edge.  I have then added a panel of matching patterned digital paper, again layered onto brown card.

Next, I have taken three doilies and coloured them using Adirondack Earthtones Espresso ink pad.  I have then folded them to give a little interest and added them to the edge of the patterned paper panel.  A brown stitched ribbon has been wrapped around the centre of the background.

I have cut out a panel of white card stock and layered it onto brown card.  This has been placed in the centre of the patterned paper panel.  The digital stamp has been cut out and layered onto this with Pinflair glue to give dimension.

To give a little interest, I have used the white Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue to add little pearls.

The flowers have been made by stamping the Heartfelt Creations Striped Sun Kissed Fleur with the Espresso ink pad onto blue card stock and cutting out using the matching die.  The petals have then been shaped and layered together and a blue stone placed into the centre.  I picked up these little stones from the tables at a wedding.

Next, I have tried some blue twine onto a key charm and placed this just below one of the flowers.

To finish, I have added three small yellow buttons into the top left had corner.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Sweet Baby Girl Fairy

Good evening all

More housework today, I am determined to spring clean the whole house before I go back to work on Monday.  Tomorrow is going to be ironing day and the amount I have got, it will probably take two days.  I think there is items in there that have been forgotten about.

I wasn't sure on where this card was going tonight, but the colours are very baby looking so decided on that as the theme.  The digital stamp is one that I have had in my files for a long time.  I can't work out where it's from.  I did think it was A Day For Daisies, but I can't find it on the website, so please, please if anyone knows, can they tell me.

I have printed a square piece of blue gingham digital paper, distressed the edges and layered onto pink Centura Pearl card stock also with distressed edges.

Next, I have taken a panel of blue Centura Pearl and wrapped pink gingham ribbon around it.  Again, the edges have been distressed.

Using the Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles, I have cut out one from pink Centura and one from blue Centura and layered them onto the background.  A centre panel has been cut from white card and I have added Stampendous Frantage Shabby White embossing enamel.  The digital stamp has then been cut out and layered onto this using Pinflair glue to give dimension.

I have then cut out six butterflies using the Memory Box Pippi Butterfly, three from blue Centura and three from pink Centura and layered them up.

To finish, I have printed off a sentiment from my computer and again, distressed the edges.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Golden Couple

Good evening all

I have had a very productive day, my kitchen has been scrubbed from top to bottom, all the cupboards emptied and clean, it's worn me out.  I hate housework, but it always makes me feel good when it's done.

Anyway, tonight's card is a wedding card made in the colours of white and gold.  The digital image is called Love Fully from Tiddly Inks and I have coloured them in using ProMarkers.

I have taken a piece of square white card stock and around the edges I have added some extra strong double sided tape, Glamour Dust has then been added to this tape to give a glitter border.  Onto this, I have layered a piece of gold Centura Pearl card stock.

Four smaller squares of white card have been embossed using a Spellbinders hearts embossing folder, these have been inked around the edges with the Adirondack Earthtones Espresso ink pad.  This background has then been layered onto another piece of gold Centura Pearl.

The digital stamp has been cut out using the outer die from the Tonic Mr & Mrs Affections Insert Die.

Next, I have used the Tonic Heart Vines Base from the Affections Die Set to cut out a larger heart shape from gold Cenutra Pearl.  I have then cut out the outer die from the same set from white card backed with a double sided adhesive sheet.  The gold die cut has been placed onto this and then it has been covered in Glamour Dust.  The digital stamp has been layered into the centre using Pinflair glue to give dimension.

Using the white Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue, I have added pearls around the digital stamp.

The flowers have been made by stamping the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur with Perfect Medium onto white vellum and heat embossing with Wow Opaque Bright White embossing powder.  These have then been cut out using the matching die.

On the reverse of the flowers, I have coloured with ProMarkers to match the digital image.  They have then been shaped and layered together and into the centre of each flower, I have added a flat back pearl.

To finish, I have added the word "Love" which has been cut out of gold Centura Pearl using the Spellbinders D-Lites Sentiments Two and placed three gold flat back pearls into opposite corners of the background.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

The background of the card has been made with three matching patterned digital papers all layered onto red card stock.  Around the panel of the left hand side, I have wrapped blue twine and added a ships wheel coloured in silver.

The digital stamp has also been layered onto red card stock and placed into the centre of the background.

To finish, I have added three smaller ships wheels on the right hand side, also coloured in silver.

Summer Flowers

Good evening everyone

Well even though I'm on holiday I still had to go into work today.  We had what we call a We're Listening group for all the Section Leaders.  We have all been feeling very unsettled with all the management changes going on.  One of the worries is that we are going to be doing a Managers job but for half the pay.  Didn't really get many answers but we have another meeting next week.

Anyway, it hasn't left we with a lot of time today, so this card is a quick and simple one.

Using my Cameo Silhouette and a free cutting file from Birds Cards, I have cut out a card blank from white card stock.  Next, I have added an insert made from bright pink paper.

The design of the card blank has a ribbon threader so I have added pale pink stitched ribbon.

A panel of white card has been embossed using a cross pattern embossing file and this I have layered onto bright pink card.

The flowers have all been made using the Lacy Marguerite floral die set from Tattered Lace.  I have made two different types of flowers in four different colours, bright pink, pale pink, yellow and orange.  In the centre of each flower, I have placed a flat back gemstone.

The edge of the card blank has flowers cut out of it and to this, I have also added flat back gemstones.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Creative Inspirations - Bright And Bold Colours
The Paper Shelter - Summer Time
DRS Designs Rubber Stamps - On The Border
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes

Time For Tea

Good morning everyone

It's the first day of my week off and I still manage to wake up at 7 this morning, I was looking forward to a lay in.  Never mind, it will give me a chance to get a head start on trying to sort the house out.

I finished this card last night but didn't get the time to blog it, it's in the shape of a teapot and the digital image is from Sherri Baldy which I have coloured in using ProMarkers.

Using my Cameo Silhouette and a free cutting file from Birds Cards, I have cut out the card base from white card stock.  Next, I have cut out a front and a back from red card stock and glued into place.

I have printed from my printer, three co-ordinating digital papers.  From two of them, I have cut out the teapot shape, again using the Cameo, one has been glued onto the front of my card and the other on the inside.

On the Cameo, I have drawn two ovals, one larger then the other and cut them from red card and the digital paper.  These have been layered together and placed onto the background.  I have also added red stitch ribbon to the right hand side.

The digital stamp has then been cut out and layered onto the background using Pinflair glue to give dimension.

I have used three different types of flowers, the first one is using the Spellbinders Blooms One.  For each flower, I have cut out two of the smallest petals and glued together with a flat back pearl added to the centre.

The next flower is using the Spellbinders Blooms Four, again, for each flower I have cut out two of the smallest petals, these have been shaped and layered together and a flat back pearl added to the centre.

For the last flower, I have used the Crafty Sentiments Design Medium Rolled Flowers die.  Two have been cut out of red card stock and rolled to make the rose.

To finish the card, I have added a bow to the top of the teapot made with matching ribbon.

Baby Boy

Good evening all

It has been a bit of a funny couple of days, I started this card yesterday but can't seem to get my crafting mojo going.  It has taken all of last night and most of today to finish and I'm still not that happy with it.

It is a Baby Boy Congratulation card ready for when my friend has her baby.  The digital image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and it has been coloured using ProMarkers.

I have started with a square piece of white card stock which has been embossed using the Die'sire Embossalicious Button Box embossing folder from Crafters Companion.  To this I have added colour around the edges using the Memento Dew Drop Bahama Blue ink pad and layered it onto blue Centura Pearl card.

Next, I have used the Spellbinders D-Lites Decorative Wrought Iron die to cut out from blue Centura Pearl, three panels to go across the background.  I have then threaded white satin ribbon from each panel and layered onto the background.

I have layered the digital image onto blue Centura Pearl, rounded the edges and then placed into the middle of the background at an angle.

Using the same ribbon, I have made bow and glued this to the top left hand corner.  Next, using my Cameo Silhouette and a cutting file from the Silhouette store, I have cut the sentiment "Baby Boy" from white card and a circle from white card backed with a double sided adhesive sheet.  These have been layered together and I have added blue glitter.

Again, using my Cameo and another file from the Silhouette store, I have cut out two baby safety pins from white card backed with double sided adhesive.  I have covered the top of the pins with blue glitter and the bottom with white glitter.

To finish, I have added blue pearls around the edge of the background using the Cosmic Shimmer Summer Blue PVA glue.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
