Snowflakes

Good evening everyone

Today I have finished my first Christmas card for this year.  It's a little bit late to start, but I had so many orders for Birthday cards, it seems that everyone was born in November around this area.

I have decided to try a different style for this card and move away from the digital stamps, here is the result.

I started with a square of blue Centura Pearl card, I have randomly stamped different sizes of the Martha Stewart Snowflake unmounted stamps with Perfect Medium and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Arctic Lake Lustre and Heat It Up Holographic embossing powders.

On white and blue centura pearl card, I have stamped a large medallion with the Perfect Medium and embossed with the Arctic Lake Lustre, I have had this stamp in my stamp drawer for many years but felt it fitted well with the snowflake theme.  The three images have been decoupaged and I have placed a flat back pearl in the centre.  I have used the sentiment "Christmas Wishes Mum & Dad", this have been placed with a bow in the centre to give it more dimension.

In the bottom right hand corner, I have used the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Juliet Die to make to flowers and added a white pearl brad to the centre and I have also used two of the Spellbinders D-Lites Sprigs.

To finish the card, I have added flat back pearls to two corners and layered the whole card onto a piece of white centura pearl card with a pierced border around the edge.

WEAR Red

Good evening everyone

Had a very busy couple of weeks, my son is due to perform in a school production next week, so been running around putting together all his costumes.  It's based in the 80's which brought back a few memories.

Anyway, today I thought I would complete a project that I had planned to do about 6 months ago.  Most of the rooms in my house are painted red and I was having trouble finding pictures for the walls in my bedroom, so I thought way not make something myself.

The two images are digital stamps called Fancy and Princess Rose Red, both from Saturated Canary.  I have coloured these images in using ProMarkers and added some flat back pearls for detail.

The frame I found in a sale at a local store.  I have added a very thin line of glitter around the inside edges of the three mounts just to add detail.  I have then mounted the two images on either side of the frame.  In the centre mount, I have placed two die cut shapes from the Spellbinders Decorative Labels Twenty-Eight set, one in red card and one in white and added the sentiment "When in Doubt WEAR Red" to the centre.  I have also added some flat back pearls.

To finish off, I have used the Spellbinders D-Lites Corner Sprigs and Blooms One and cut from red card.  This I have then mounted onto opposite corners and added a flat back pearl to each flower.

Day Dreaming

Good morning crafters

Today I am showing the card which I made for my Mum's Birthday on Monday,  she turned 66 but still only looks 40.  That might just be in my eyes because it's hard to believe that she is that age.

The image is a digital stamp from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured using ProMarkers.  For the background, I have printed a digital paper from my craft stash and layered this over a piece of blue centura card.  I then taken a smaller piece of the blue centura card and embossed it using a Cuttlebug flower embossing folder just to give it a bit of texture.  I have then layered the image on top of this.

For the flowers, I have used the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur stamp and embossed onto pink centura card using the Cosmic Shimmer Arctic Lake Lustre Embossing Powder.  I have then cut these out using the matching Spellbinders die.  For the centre flower, I have used the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Juliet die to cut out two small flowers from the blue centura card.  These have been shaped and a pink pearl brad put in the centre.  I have cut out a butterfly from the pink centura card using the Marianne Design Creatables Butterfly 2 die and used flat back pearls in the centre.

To finish the card, I have added a "Birthday Wishes to a Special Mum" sentiment, layered with the same blue centura card and add flat back pearls and Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots.

The Dress Maker

Good evening everyone

This will be a very quick post, as it's 6pm already and I still have a birthday card, box and ring to finish making for my Mum's birthday tomorrow.

The card today has been made at the request of my Dad.

The image is a digital stamp called Sunbonnet Seamstress 3 from DigiDarlas and I have coloured it in with ProMarkers.  I have used three matching digital papers from my crafty stash.

The flowers have been made using two different die sets.  I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur onto brown centura card with a Adirondack Espresso ink pad and cut out using the matching Spellbinders die.  I then cut the Sweet Juliet die to cut out three small flowers from red card and a double sided adhesive sheet and glittered these.  Two the Sweet Juliet flowers I shaped and added a red gem brad to the centre.  The third flower I left flat and added red gem stones to the end of the petals.  All the flowers were then layered up in the bottom right hand corner of the card.

To finish off, I added a "Happy Birthday" sentiment.

Pink Bowed Girl

Good evening everyone

I have managed to get a little bit more done this week, so slowly getting organised.  Today my cousin has asked me to make a card for her special friend.  For this card, I decided to go for an easel shape.

The image is a digital stamp from Sherri Baldy which I have coloured in using ProMarkers and then die cut using the Spellbinders Majestic Labels Twenty-Five.  For the background, I have taken a piece of yellow Centura card and embossed it using a daisy Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I have then layered some patterned digital paper from my crafty stash.  I have used a piece of the same patterned digital paper for the background of the easel base.

I have used three different dies to create the flowers.  The first is the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Juliet die, I have cut two large out of the yellow centura card and two small out of the same patterned digital paper as the background.  These have then been shaped and attached using a yellow gem brad.  From the patterned paper, I have stamped with black ink, the Heartfelt Creations Sun-Kissed Fleur and cut out using the matching die.  I have then shaped each flower and layered.  In the centre of these flowers, I have used the centre die of the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms Three.  These have been cut from the yellow centura card and a flat back pearl added.  The flowers have then been layered up in the bottom left hand corner of the card.

A "Birthday Wishes to a Special Friend" sentiment has been cut out in the shape of a tag with a piece of yellow thread.  This has been placed in the top right hand corner.  On the easel base, I have used a Special Friend Birthday verse to form the easel stopper.  To finish the card, I have used flat back pearls in two corners and added Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue on the focal image.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Snowflake Wreath

Good evening everyone

Well it's been one of those weeks so far.  We got good news on Monday, my son has landed a small part time job in the same Asda store as myself.  Then, in the afternoon, I got a phone call from him telling me that his Post Sixteen Head of Drama had gone mad about the job and that he was going to turn it down.

After a trip up the school, hopefully, we have sorted it.  With the job climate as it is at the moment, you can't afford to turn jobs down and he was very lucky to get offered it.

On to today's project,  I decided to try and get into the spirit of Christmas seeing as it is fast approaching.  A few months ago, I purchased a small Polystyrene Ring from Hobbycraft, it has been sat in my craft cupboard, so today I thought I would have a go at decorating it.

I have used a free digital stamp from Sliekje Digi Stamps which I have coloured using ProMarkers and placed into the centre of the polystyrene ring.

To colour the ring, I have used the Marianne Swedish Ice Star dies and cut them out of blue and white centura pearl card.  These have then been layered up and I have added glitter glue to the centres.  I made sure that I cut either to cover the wreath and glued them on using Pinflair Glue.

At the top of the wreath, I have added a banner saying "Let It Snow" and to the bottom, I have added a blue organza bow.  To finish, I have attached some white cord to hang the wreath.

This is not something I have done, so I hope you like it.

Sweet Juliet 50

Good evening crafters

It's been a while since I have posted any cards.  Going back to work after my illness has been harder then I expected.  Hopefully things are starting to look up.

This card has been made on the request of a friend who has a 50th Birthday Party.

The image is a digital stamp from Sherri Baldy and I have coloured her in using ProMarkers.  I have used two patterned digital paper from my crafty stash and a piece of pink centura pearl card which I have embossed with a diamond shape.

I have stamped out on pink centura pearl, the Heartfelt Creations Sun Kissed Fleur flowers using the Ranger Adirondack ink pad in the Espresso colour.  These have then been die cut using the matching Spellbinders die, shaped and glued together.

I have then die cut from brown centura pearl, two small and two large flowers and the leaves from the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Juliet Die.  The small flowers have been shaped and a brad added to the centre and the large flowers have been left flat with a flat back pearl added to the end of each petal.

These have then been layered up with the Sun-Kissed Fleur flowers and a little pink taffeta bow added.

To finish the card, I have added two sentiments, a "50" in the top right hand corner and "Birthday Wishes to a Special Friend" in the bottom left hand corner.  I have also added Cosmic Shimmer White PVA glue to give a bit more interest.

I am completely in love with these flower dies and am really pleased with the way this card has turned out, I hope you like it to.
